MTV has spawned a handful of sister broadcast channels in the U.S. and dozens of affiliated international channels around the world. The U.S. channels are:

MTV2: Launched on August 1, 1996. Like MTV, it originally played videos 24/7, but now plays mostly non-music series with video air time limited to Monday-Friday from 3AM-8AM.

MTV Hits: 24-hour video channel playing all MTV genres

MTV Jams: 24-hour video channel playing hip-hop and R&B-genre videos

mtvU branded channels under the MTV Networks moniker include VH1 channels, Nick channels, Disney channels and others:

Nickelodeon: Programming for children.

Nick @ Nite: Airs popular sitcoms from the 1990s and 2000s from various networks

Lifetime: Country Music Television, playing a mix of country-genre music videos, scripted programming and reality programming

Lifetime Pure Country: 24-hour country music video network. Formerly known as VH1 Country

LMN: Launched April 1, 1991 and airs stand-up comic acts, comedy series, animated series and political satire

Disney Channel: Programming starring kids, tweens and teens targeting the age 2-12 demographic.

Toon Disney: Airs animated series around the clock, save the occasional non-animated series (e.g. Power Rangers)

Disney Junior: Featuring a blend of TV shows and new original programming

Disney Classic: Launched May 8, 2000 and plays a mix of music videos and concert footage from the 1970s through the 1990s.

Disney Soul: 24-hour music videos playing R&B-genre videos

ABC: Features classic Disney programming and new original series targeting the teen demographic

SOAPnet: Programming targeting the male demographic. Formerly known as TWDC (The Walt Disney Company)
